When Colour Speaks - Abstract Impressionism in Limassol
When Colour Speaks - Abstract Impressionism in Limassol
Morfi Gallery were the hosts for the culmination of a six-month educational programme - a study that combined art theory and the history of art, development of visual thinking, project management and the practical application of knowledge.

It was difficult to imagine that the abstract expressionism pieces on display were not created by professional artists, but rather by Trinity Private School students.

Inspired by the works of Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman, the students studied the influence of colour on the perception of emotion and the meaning of artworks. However, their path to creating artwork was not limited to learning techniques: as part of the learning process, they gained skills in art analysis, design thinking, curating and space organisation, all of which have become an important part of their educational development.

The students independently supervised the entire process, from conceptualisation to exhibition preparation. This approach reflects the key principles of education at Trinity Private School, which emphasises the development of research skills, critical thinking and independence.

The exhibition presented 10 large canvases, which became a visual expression of individual understanding of colour and its psychological impact. In addition, the exhibition was complemented by documentary elements - sketches, notes and artefacts of the creative process, including the artists' clothes covered in paint, symbolising freedom of expression.

The event attracted more than 100 guests, including art historians, patrons, educators and contemporary art lovers. The programme also included a lecture on the influence of colour and methods of colour perception, a painting workshop and art mediation sessions.

This event reflects the philosophy of Trinity Private School: the school actively develops innovative educational programmes and integrates art as a tool for developing dynamic thought, emotional intelligence and cultural perception.

New exhibitions, art experiments and international projects are already being planned, providing students with unique opportunities for self-expression and professional growth. The next stage in the development of these initiatives will be realised through the Trinity Camp project.
